What, exactly, does it mean to fear God? I've been reading in Exodus lately, and something that's been simmering in the back of my mind is from the first chapter. The midwives "feared God," so they didn't murder the baby boys they helped deliver, even though Pharoah ordered them to.
Obviously, that was big stand they had to take, but I can't help but wonder if they would have been able to take that big stand if they hadn't previously taken little stands... which makes me wonder, what kind of little stands would they have taken? And what kind of little stands do I take?
What does it mean to fear God for me, in my 21st century, American environment? And tied up in that, what does it mean to honor and respect and love God in my world and in my life?
"I would rather live my life as if there is a God, and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't, and die to find out there is." - Albert Camus

Photos and Fun
I recently took a 3-week long class AND bought a Speedlite for my camera. I've been able to test out my new knowledge and ideas on an engagement shoot and a 1-year-old shoot. Have I mentioned lately that I LOVE taking pictures? I just love what you can do with it... it's so cool!
Anyhow, I'm really pleased with home some of the more recent pictures are starting to turn out, and I feel like I'm beginning to have a bit more of an ability to purposefully get the kind of picture I'm trying to get, without it being based on blind luck. Or the utter and absolute grace of God, even though in reality, it probably is... Regardless, I'm grateful for the opportunity to take pictures for people.
